Set of Three Exclusive Füchtner Nutcrackers for The Christmas Haus

A Set of Three Exclusive Hand-Numbered Füchtner Nutcrackers for The Christmas Haus
From a Limited Edition of 100, each nutcracker in your set will have the same number. Each year's nutcracker is signed, numbered and dated.
Roger Lund, owner of The Christmas Haus and Volker Füchtner of Seiffen, Germany, created the series of three exclusive nutcrackers just for The Christmas Haus.
Lund designed a special coloration for the three nutcrackers, based on the original c. 1870 design of Wilhem Friedrich Füchtner, Volker's great-great-great grandfather.
Wilhelm Friedrich Füchtner (1844-1923), known the world over as the "Father of the Nutcracker" carved the very first nutcracker around 1870. His home workshop in Seiffen, the small toy-making village in the middle of the Erzgebirge in eastern Germany, is still the home of the finest nutcrackers.
Today, six generations later, Volker Füchtner honors his great-great-great grandfather by still producing nutcrackers in the old tradition in the very same home workshopthe birthplace of the nutcracker.
Each Füchtner nutcracker is stamped "Füchtner - First Famiily of the Nutcracker," hand-signed by Volker Füchtner, and comes in a custom wooden crate, complete with the Füchtner family story in both German and English as well as the story of each of The Christmas Haus Nutcrackers.
The nutcracker is approximately 14" tall.
Nutcrackers originally were meant to mock people of authority. This series highlights the 3 originals: left to right, the Soldier, (2008), the King (2007), and the Tax Collector, who was the Forester (2009). Photographed at Werkstatt Volker Füchtner in Seiffen, April 2009.
