The Steiff Ape 60PB 1903 Replica (EAN 400476) is one of the most historically important replicas. He's one of the very first jointed animals produced by Steiff in 1903. This ape, some say monkey) made his debut on the cover of the 1903-1904 Steiff catalog, dancing with PB55, the world's first jointed Teddy. PB60 is string jointed and made from distressed mohair and felt. He's 24 1/2" inches (60cm) tall and comes in his original box with his numbered certificate of authenticity.

The original Ape 60 PB was designed and made by Richard Steiff at the same time and in the same way as the very first jointed Teddy bear - Bear 55 PB, and appeared alongside Bear 55 PB at their first public debut, the 1903 Leipzig Toy Fair. Using string to joint the Ape, he too was gifted with movement like his fellow friend the Teddy bear. For the very first time in over 100 years Steiff is proud to offer a fine replica of this historically important Ape.
